Field Scouting Robot
Field Scouting Robot (FSR)
FSR is a six-wheel field robot driven by AI, not by remote control. Give it a goal in words and it works out the route itself - no route planned by a human. Built for farmland and orchards, it will carry sensors to collect crop data as the next step.

Overview of the FSR
Compact Six-Wheel Autonomous Robot
Ensures excellent off-road performance on uneven field surfaces with six-wheel drive.
Minimizes vertical movement and tilt of the body, which could interfere with observations, through a six-wheel linked suspension mechanism.
Dimensions and Product Variants (Details in Supplementary Material)
FSR100: 100 mm Wheel diameter (operational). FSR200: 200 mm Wheel diameter (Under testing).
FSR300: 300 mm Wheel diameter (Under development).
Target Crops and Field Scale
Primarily designed for orchards such as mulberries, tea, fruit trees, coffee, and wine grapes.
Targets medium to large-scale fields.
Fully Autonomous Operation
Continuous operation and observation day and night.
Aims for complete remote operation (e.g., field in Laos, controlled from Japan).
Observation Items
Al-integrated multimodal data of the environment and crops (images, temperature, humidity, photon flux, CO2, etc.).
Integration with environmental data from fixed observation points (including soil temperature, moisture, and residual fertilizer information).
Data Transmission and Analysis
Observation data is transmitted immediately to a data center, where it is analyzed and processed by Al to provide actionable insights to farmers.
AI-Powered Autonomous Field Robotics
Most field rovers are either driven by remote control or run a fixed algorithm inside a pre-mapped area. FSR is built to be driven by AI itself. Its strength comes from three capabilities.
First, no human-designed route is required. Trained in simulation, FSR is given only a goal - in plain words or as a goal image - and works out how to reach it. Conventional systems need a human to plan a route on a map prepared for that specific site, which makes every new site costly.
Second, the hardware is built to carry AI. Its six-wheel link-suspension platform stays stable over mud, slopes and steps, protecting the onboard high-performance computer and keeping sensor data usable. The chassis is not an accessory to the AI - it is part of it.
Third, one platform extends to many tasks. Modular cameras, sensors and towing units suit crop observation, patrol, inspection, security and transport. For AI researchers and businesses, FSR is a practical way to put AI to work in the field.
ーー About us ーー
Working for a better tomorrow
In an increasingly global economy, we’re working with unprecedented speed to achieve total optimization. No matter how times may change, we believe one constant will remain, the need for solutions that anticipate market needs and increase the value of customers’ products. For this reason, our approach to take the initiative to rapidly develop new products, improve mass production technologies, and deliver products and services that meet and or exceed customer needs remain unchanged.
